Raising the next generation of leaders.
Next Leaders is an initiative of Youthspark Pan Africa designed to find, train and build a community of NextLeaders leveraging the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The initiative aims to equip young leaders, particularly secondary school students and undergraduates with essential leadership skills, empowering them to take on leadership roles within their schools.
This initiative prioritizes the importance of nurturing and developing future leaders who contribute positively to their schools and communities.
Cultivate the courage to lead, even if it means being the first to step forward. Your age does not determine your capacity to make a difference.
Founder, Youthspark Pan Africa
Our mission is to inspire, educate, and empower young people to become effective leaders who are committed to making a difference. Through our programs and initiatives, we strive to provide transformative experiences, mentorship, and resources that enable youth to develop their leadership potential, cultivate essential skills, and create a network of like-minded individuals who share their passion for change.
Our vision is to create a world where every young person is equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to lead and create positive change. We envision a future where young leaders are driving innovation, championing social justice, and shaping inclusive and sustainable communities.
The Nextleaders Initiative focuses on achieving the above mentioned objectives through various programmes such as the NextLeaders Bootcamp, NextLeaders Conferences and NextLeaders Fellowships.
The project will focus on building the leadership capacity of secondary school functionaries, senior prefects, deputy senior prefects and social prefects. The aim is to help them understand themselves, their roles in collaborating with other students to achieve specific developmental changes in their schools and communities.
During the bootcamp, the participating school leaders are provided with tools and strategies to enhance self-discovery, personal growth, self-confidence, resilience, emotional intelligence and relevant qualities that prepare them for effective leadership.
The NextLeaders Bootcamp is tailored with activities to suit the age group and interests of the secondary school students, fostering a positive and inclusive environment that encourages personal growth, collaboration, and a passion for leadership.
Introduce participants to the concept & basic practices of Transformational Leadership, and prepare them for lifelong leadership: This is done through sessions on leadership concepts, styles, and qualities; communication skills, Emotional Intelligence, Time Management and more, to equip them for lifelong leadership.
We work with secondary school prefects to develop their tenure agendas/in-school projects designed to bring lasting positive change to their schools and communities. By undertaking developmental projects, secondary school prefects develop important skills, contribute positively to their school community, and create a meaningful impact that extends beyond their term of service.
Create meaningful networks and relationships among participants: Networking expands the horizons of young leaders by exposing them to new opportunities. Through connections and referrals, they discover internships, job openings, speaking engagements, and other avenues for personal and professional growth that may not have been otherwise accessible.
Support and Mentorship: Building a network of fellow young leaders provides a support system where they can seek advice, guidance, and mentorship. Connecting with more experienced leaders in their field offers valuable perspectives, helps them navigate challenges, and provides valuable career guidance.
Skills Development: The Bootcamp equips young leaders with practical skills that are essential for their personal and professional success. This includes areas such as public speaking, project management, teamwork, negotiation, and decision-making. Delivery methods during the NextLeaders Bootcamp uses facilitators, presentations, movie/documentary, group works, school projects (a campaign around common vices - bullying, cultism, exam malpractice, etc.) mixed group work and much more.
